Processing numerous reactions on a small footprint at significantly reduced process times?
Quite often chemical reactions have to be carried out in parallel. On the one hand, this requires a lot of space in the laboratory exhaust and, on the other hand, it takes a lot of time. For capacity reasons and to increase efficiency, solutions are increasingly being sought to counter these productivity barriers. We offer such a solution with the Starfish Workstation.
Depending on which reaction you want to realize, the Starfish Workstation can be easily assembled according to your needs. Whether you want to heat many small batches at once, reflux or extract them in parallel under the same conditions, StarFish leaves no wish unfulfilled.
You can accommodate up to 45 samples at the same time on any Heidolph magnetic stirrer with a footprint of 145 mm diameter.
The StarFish Workstation consists of a base plate and various interchangeable attachments for every requirement. The MonoBlocks and PolyBlocks are suitable, without any additional accessories, for reactions in small vessels that do not require any further assembly.
A flexibly divisible support rod that can be screwed into the center of the system is available to fix round bottomed flasks. For more complex devices for Soxhlet extraction or reflux reactor, additional glass devices can be set up around a long support rod and connected with water cooling and/or inert gas or vacuum connection to save space.
The MonoBlocks are attachments for several reaction vessels of the same size. In them you can accommodate up to 5 round bottomed flasks of 10 - 250 ml. MonoBlocks are also available for up to 40 test tubes and up to 40 reagent vials, such as Vials or welted glasses with snap-on lid.
The PolyBlocks are attachments that can be combined with each other for reaction vessels of different sizes (max. 5 different inserts per StarFish system). In them you can accommodate round bottomed flasks of 10 - 250 ml. In addition, Polyblocks are also available for up to 9 test tubes and up to 9 reagent vials, such as Vials or welted glasses with snap-on lid.
To use the StarFish Workstation, you do not need to buy new glassware or similar. In addition to time and space, you also save money.
The Starfish system is, of course, chemical-resistant. The attachments are made of aluminum and are suitable for heating bath temperatures of up to 260 °C.
One of the advantages of StarFish is that you can mix and match parts to build the system that suits your application ...
